Thank you for your interest in Zorgvliet Wine Estate. We are pleased to present you with a little more information regarding our Estate.
Zorgvliet Wine Estate can be the perfect venue for you, if you want to add a touch of magic and style to your big day. Nestled in the Banhoek Valley near Stellenbosch, you will be amazed at the breathtakingly spectacular views of the Simonsberg Mountains and vineyards, and your wedding pictures will afford you absolutely classic memories.
Zorgvliet Wine Estate offers a variety of options; we have two elegant wedding venues, with a chapel for your ceremony. For pre or post wedding activities your guests can enjoy our wonderful picnic and deli area and a country styled restaurant with a French twist for a more formal dinning experience. We also have a cellar that you can tour by appointment or visit our wine tasting and savor the taste of Zorgvliet.

CEREMONY
- We have a charming little chapel that can accommodate your guests on our premises which was built in 1732. It has an elegant look and feel, with its stained glass windows and wooden pews.
- The chapel can accommodate 120 people.
- The venue hire includes the use of the Zorgvliet Chapel, wooden pews and there is a red carpet available, should you choose to use it.
- Outside wedding ceremonies can be held in our selected area of our manicured gardens
- Outside ceremonies must be discussed with management.
RECEPTION

Guests will be able to choose from a variety of wedding venues for your reception – all venues are surrounded by the beautiful views of the winelands. You will be treated to superb catering, fine Zorgvliet wine, and luxury accommodation.

VARIOUS RECEPTION AREAS:
Oak Room:This is our main reception area. This area can accommodate up to 120 guests including a lovely dance floor area. The Oak Room has spectacular vineyard and mountain views. There is a little fireplace in the venue which creates a lovely warm atmosphere for a winter wedding and there are air conditioners for those warm summer days.
Banhoek Room:This is our smaller venue. This area can be used for a pre-drink area in case your reception is held in the Oak Room. The Banhoek room can accommodate a maximum of 70 seated guests. This room has big concertina doors that open up on to a veranda with lovely views over the vineyards.
Zorgvliet Picnic:At the Zorgvliet picnic area, you and your guests can enjoy the lovely shade of the old trees and rolling lawns and vineyards. The vineyards all have a different shade of green according to the types of cultivar. They are a perfect backdrop to the historic white washed Cape Dutch architecture of Zorgvliet Wine Estate's buildings.
This venue is an open-air venue that can accommodate up to 500-guests, weather permitted.
The venue does not include a Bedouin tent or any tables and chairs. However, this can be arranged at an additional fee.
Site inspection can be arranged by appointment.
WEDDING CEREMONY AND RECEPTION
Bar
- We are a fully licensed establishment and will meet and manage all your beverage requirements. Please note that Zorgvliet will manage the bar. Beverage rates will depend on the date of your wedding. Final beverage list must be submitted 14 days prior to the function and the host must confirm the choice of an open or cash bar. Bar staff must be arranged with Zorgvliet. No outside service providers are allowed to manage the bar.
- You may select your own wine list from our Zorgvliet or Silver Myn range of wines. Silver Myn MCC is the only sparkling wine allowed to be used. A wine tasting may be arranged by appointment.
Catering and Co-ordinating
Our catering is done by a company called “Stir food” and our service staff is done by “Shake and Serve”. Feel free to view their websites at: www.stirfood.co.za, www.shakeandserve.co.za
- A list of preferred suppliers for the following, flowers and décor, entertainment and music, photographers and video coverage, aroma therapists and transport.
- Compiling an action list to ensure that deadlines specified by both parties are adhered to.
- Preparing a comprehensive timing schedule/programme for the day of the wedding.
Zorgvliet wine estate will nominate outside caterers and co-coordinators at its sole discretion.
If you are making use of an outside caterer, you will be obliged to liaise with the Zorgvliet venue manager and there will be a kitchen venue hire of R5000.00 to use the kitchen space.
If you are making use of an outside co-coordinator, you will be obliged to liaise with the Zorgvliet on site coordinator during the planning of the wedding. This is to insure that all the outside parties are managed effectively and that all the logistics of the event is taken care of.
Décor and Flowers
- Draping and Flowers for the function are not included in the venue hire and need to be organized by the client.
- We can highly recommend our preferred décor suppliers and would provide you with their contact details.
- Please note that Zorgvliet staff cannot assist florist or any other supplier, with decoration, carrying of material or moving of flower arrangements either during set-up, during the function or when striking the event.
- Zorgvliet Wine Estate will take no responsibility for any damages to décor or property of any suppliers.
- The décor organizer may start set up on the function date from 08:00.
- All décor will have to be removed no later than 09:00am the following morning during the weekdays and 09:00am on a Monday morning during weekends.
- If necessary, alternative arrangement can be made with the Venue Manager.
Entertainment
- All entertainment is subject to the approval of the Management. Zorgvliet Management will control the volume at all times. All entertainment ends at 24h00 due to very strict noise regulations in the Banhoek Valley. Volume of music, etc. will be subject to Managements’ discretion. (Overtime can be arranged at an additional cost).
- Please note that no loud music will be allowed at the Picnic area and only background music is allowed in the Banhoek room
Photo and film shoots
- Use of the Estate for your photo shoot is inclued in the venue hire.
- Should you wish to have only photography at Zorgvliet Wine Estate, please discuss price and avilability with our Venue manager.
Accomodation
- Zorgvliet Wine Estate has luxuary accomodation, where guests where guests can relax at the pool.
- Should your party exceed the amount of rooms we have available,an alternative accomodation is available on the surrounding farms.
Zorgvliet Wine Estate can offer the following accomodation
- Eight double en suite rooms
- Three, two bedroom, one bathroom units that can accomodate 4 guests
- One, three bedroom, two bathroom unit that can accomdate 6 guests
All our rooms include the following:

- Air-conditioning
- Remote controlled television with DSTV
- Continental picnic breakfast included
Confirmation
Please be advised that a provisional booking can be made, but will only be kept for maximum of 7 days and must be done via fax or email. In order to confirm your booking you must complete the contract, send it to us by fax or email and pay the deposit.
